Kate Middleton Apologises for Doctored Photo and Reveals Who Made the Edits

The Princess of Wales has confessed to editing a photo of herself and her children in celebration of Mother’s Day, following accusations that the image was digitally altered.

Multiple international photo agencies, including the Associated Press (AP), Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP), and Getty Images, confirmed that the photograph had been manipulated. They issued a “kill notice” to media organizations to delete the image from their libraries.

In a personal post attributed to Kate on social media, the princess apologized for any confusion caused by the edited family photograph. She stated, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”

A palace source explained that the picture was taken by Prince William and edited by Kate to offer an informal glimpse of the family together on Mother’s Day. The image shows Kate with Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, five, in a sweet family portrait.

Concerns were raised by eagle-eyed royal fans on social media about the editing of the photograph, noting discrepancies in Princess Charlotte’s arm and Prince George’s hand. Despite this, the palace emphasized that the family had a wonderful Mother’s Day together.

Additionally, there were recent speculations regarding Kate’s health and absence from public appearances since Christmas. Palace aides criticized the impact of social media on such rumors, reaffirming that updates about Kate’s recovery would be provided when significant.

The Princess is expected to resume official duties after Easter, as Prince William temporarily scaled back his royal responsibilities to support her and their children during her recovery.

An incident occurred when the Army mistakenly suggested Kate’s attendance at Trooping the Colour on June 8 without approval from Kensington Palace. The reference to her participation was removed from the event’s website following the update.
