Ant McPartlin bursts into tears on Britains Got Talent

Ant McPartlin will soon be seen to break down in tears from pre-recorded scenes for the very first episode of this new set of Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday night.

It has been announced that the embattled 42-year-old, who is now in rehabilitation, will be absent from the live show. His sidekick and expert partner Declan Donnelly will take the stage for the initial audition process of this show.

News of the scenes comes after Britain’s Got More Talent host Stephen Mulhern talked to Closer magazine concerning the raucous post-show festivities following BGT. A sensitive subject due to Ant’s current treatment for beverage and drug addiction.

Earlier in the week, it was revealed that Dec will host the live shows independently, as Ant steps down from his TV responsibilities following his admission to rehabilitation.

A spokesman for ITV said: ‘Declan Donnelly will host Britain’s Got Talent live shows on his own while Ant McPartlin “steps down from his TV responsibilities for now”.’ The famous show will go for the 12th season on Saturday with Ant to be seen on-screen at the audition stages, but that is his sole participation.

Dec will also be hosting the live show solo from the Hammersmith Apollo rather than a TV studio, for the first time. It has been shown in a teaser he will breakdown in tears because he watches one of the auditions – definitely causing high emotion. He then turns to the camera and said: ‘I can not prevent the tears from falling’.

Elsewhere, Stephen, who stepped up for the finale of Saturday Night Takeaway at Dec’s absence, recently revealed the way the post-show events could have raucous.

He revealed: ‘It’s brilliant, because after filming we all go back to the resort, give it five or 10 minutes – then we will be in the bar. There is no way you can come from auditions afternoon and go: “Right everyone, I am off to bed!”‘

Ant stepped down from his introducing commitments when he was charged with drink-driving earlier this month following a 3 car crash. The television personality was twice the legal limit when he was arrested, according to police. The legal limit is 35mg.

The TV presenter, who has been component of duo Ant and Dec for almost 30 years, was expected to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with the offence. Ant and Dec did not feature in recently released promo images for the new series of BGT, set to air this Saturday, with judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden all pictured.
